Changes ........
It is interesting how your life can change in what seems like the blink of an eye. It is one thing to plan for a life change and totally something different to have to live through it. I have had a few monumental changes in my life as of late, and while not all of them are good, I am firmly beginning to believe that I will survive them. As I always said in grad school:
"Nothing will happen to you today that will not cause the sun to rise tomorrow. If that DOES happen, then we have bigger problems anyway, and let's just start pounding beers."
Simple enough?
As my buddy Jason said, writing is selfish first. I find it easier to write things that I do so say them. I am not sure why this is the case, but it happens.
I owe so many thanks to people who have helped me get through the many things going on in my life right now. People I have known for years and people I have known for months. People like Jason, Will, Kim, Annette, Lisa, and others who have either consoled me or told me to just get over it and get off my ass and do something. Many thanks for the consideration and the time.
That being said, I am going to continue changing. I am joining a gym at the end of the month, and have cut back significantly on the fast food and sweets. I would like to lose about 35 pounds before my sister's wedding next year. If I join a gym I am sure to workout since I will be paying for the privilage. If I am paying for something, I will definitely use it since I am cheap as all hell. Ask Jason and Will and Annette. I am also reading more mysteries. I like mysteries.
Speaking of mysteries, the new House of Wax remake is kick-ass. I do not care who says otherwise. Land of the Dead was ok. Looking forward to watching The Skeleton Key soon. If they remake Firday the 13th I will officially beat someone over the head with a stick.
Finally, since I AM the Commissioner, I would be remiss if I did not give my take on some sports issues before I sign off.
T.O. - Shut the hell up and go play football in Canada. I am sooo done with this story.
San Diego Padres - Signing Castilla was a good start, now how about locking up Brian Giles, huh?
San Diego Chargers - this is the time for our move. The toughest part of the schedule is over.
UTEP Miners - slap UAB and bring the CUSA championship home to El Paso !!
Predictions from the Commissioner:
UTEP 38, UAB 30
San Diego 31, Buffalo 16
Believe it!!
As always I remain your humble servant
RJ - more commonly known as The Commissioner
(or the Mad Cow, Lord of the Hoof, on certain days)

RJ
My brutha from anotha mutha
My homie
My partner in 40s (yes I still have them all!!)
18 years is a long time to give up - I aint about to start today. Do you think I would be here today if it werent for people like you and Bill? Nah! I would be in some desolate 1 bedroom apt overlooking nothing with my lonely life and boring outlook. Sometimes, you just need that 2x4 across the back of the head to remind us that it hurts...not that forgot the last time that it smacked the back of your head, but you know what I mean.
No matter the situation, always my brutha, and I am always there for you man..
As far as writing is selfish first, just make sure you are true to yourself when you write, otherwise you can open up a can of worms you didnt know you had. Leave the fictional writing for the checks...it's easier that way :)
