Football and new chapters......

Here are the Mad Cow's predictions for the Divisional Championships:

Pittsburgh 27, Denver 24 - the Steelers will lead early and hold off a furious rally to take the AFC crown. I think the Steelers D will contain the Broncos running attack just enough, and will keep Plummer in the pocket to make him make a mistake or two.

Carolina 33, Seattle 27 (OT) - I think this will be a high scoring game but Steve Smith will lead the Panthers to the NFC crown, outlasting a spectacular game by Shawn Alexander. The difference will be that (in my opinion) Carolina has the superior wide receiving corps.

Other than that, it is a beautiful day here in So Cal. I will be sure to have a frosty pint (or three) for all of you later on today.

An important note from the Commissioner:

A new chapter:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many friends that have helped me and continue to support me during a rather tough stretch over the last few months. They have been more than valuable and all their support is greatly appreciated.

A new period is starting in my life and while it seems scary at times, I am also very excited. Sometimes change is not a bad thing and should be embraced. This is not to say that the ending chapter was all bad, since I prefer to focus on the good things that happened. There were many things in that chapter that affected me both positively and negatively. I cherish the positive and remember the negative, but try not to dwell on them.

Speaking of the negative, I also find that I have little to no animosity towards the circumstances that lead to those negative events, and especially have NO animosity or negative feeling towards one certain individual during that time. I wish them nothing but continued success and hope that the new chapter in their life is prosperous.

It is nice to get that off my chest.

As always, I remain your humble servant -

Peace out -

THE Commish.

Playoffs ????

Predictions from the Mad Cow:

Carolina 24 , Chicago 13 - this no offense thing will finally catch up to the Bears

Indianapolis 38, Pittsburgh 21 - Indy will make a big statement here.

Seattle 31, Washington 10 - see that offense comment above. The Skins offense was horrendous agaisnt the Bucs.

New England 29, Denver 27 - Brady vs. Plummer. Do not be suprised if Denver takes this, but my gut tells me the Pats.

I still like Carolina to win it all.....

People Slay me......

You know, I have been surfing the blogs a little more lately, and I have come to a conclusion.

Why is everything Bush's fault? It is getting ridiculous.

Hey, I stubbed my toe this morning, I am sure he had something to do with it.

I read all the liberal blogs saying that President Bush is incompetent, his administration is filled with morons, etc. That is their opinion and that is fine, but most of these people are the same bunch that decry the government for not being ready if we are attacked. Can't have it both ways people. The reason we are in the Middle East is a preventative measure. Do you REALLY think there were no WMD, just because we were told so?? There is so much information that the government has that we will never know and to be honest we as a public really don't need to. Do you also REALLY think Saddam was going to just sit there like a good boy for the rest of his life? Bullshit!! Do you think Iran is really exploring Nuclear power for the electrical benefits? Please!!

What would have happened to Europe if the allies had acted when Hitler invaded Poland? It is the same thing. I would rather have a President that will take preventative action BEFORE a problem arises that one who would basically wait for something to happen. Clinton was told about Osama's actions and he did NOTHING. Yet, when Bush tries to stop something before it is happens, he is villified. Nice.

I am not saying that I agree with everything the President stands for and has done. I am saying that I prefer someone who has the stones to make the decisions that he feels will keep this country safe.

Also, how many straws do the Demos have to grab at if they are blaming Hurricane Katrina and the 2004 Tsunami on Bush?? Are you freaking KIDDING me???? People, crack open an Earth Science book and START READING !!!! Those events have been occuring well before Bush became President and will continue to occur well after he is out of office, so give it a rest already. You are only making yourselves look foolish.

People slay me.

Oh, PETA, while I am all for treating animal with correctly, the more you engage in your horrendous propaganda against ANYONE who eats meat, ie. those extremely violent and bloody comic books targeting young children which say that their parents slaughter animals, the more I just want a very large steak. Going after young children to convey your message is immoral and wrong. Get a new angle, this one is old and done.

Yes, I will have fries with that, thank you.

I'm out of here.....
